Fjadrargljufur Canyon, Iceland

Believed to have formed at the end of the last Ice Age about 9,000 years ago, the magnificent Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon is 100 meters deep (328 ft) and approximately 2 km (1.24 m) long.

According to the Official South Iceland tourism site, “Fjaðrá is often rather low in water and therefore hikers can safely choose to walk inside the canyon. However, wading is necessary fairly often.”
